Oof.
I officially told my bestie T of husband’s deployment recently. She’s the first person I’ve talked to about this (outside of the immediate military unit and the spouses of this unit). And it wasn’t in the “well, he’s supposed to go some time between this month and this month. But we’re not sure. You know how the military is.”
No, it was a “yup, he’s going to ___ and leaving ___ and coming back ___.”
Oof.
And that feeling just hit me. That it’s really official. It’s happening. Our first deployment.

And he hasn’t even left yet.
